Mars Express: HRSC

The HRSC (High/Super Resolution Stereo Colour Imager) is a stereoscopic camera that photographs the Martian surface to reveal detail as small as 2 m. The images are used to produce a geological map showing the location of different minerals and rock types. The HRSC Principal Investigator is Prof. Gerhard Neukum, Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany.

The primary source for HRSC data is the ESA Planetary Science Archive.

Through a cooperative agreement between ESA and NASA, the PDS Geosciences Node is hosting copies of the HRSC data archives. The PDS Imaging Node also has copies.

The Mars Orbital Data Explorer can be used to search for HRSC data.

The HRSC Science Team provides the HRSCview Data Explorer, an online visualization tool that allows a user to view regions of interest in HRSC images at full resolution without downloading the products.

March 3, 2008.  The first releases of HRSC orthophoto and DTM data have been added to the archive.
