IDA (Instrument Deployment Arm)
IDA data are scheduled to be
included in InSight Release 2 on October 1, 2019.

The InSight Instrument Deployment Arm
(IDA) has two primary objectives.
The first is to point the Instrument
Deployment Camera (IDC) for imaging of the
Martian terrain surrounding the lander.
The second is to deploy the InSight
science instruments from the lander deck to
the Martian surface. The IDA
archive includes raw sensor data that can be
used to reconstruct these arm movements.
Additionally, the IDA may be used to
alter the terrain to prepare it for
deployment of the science instruments and to
perform soil mechanics experiments.
IDA archive includes calibrated data and
video products for the soil mechanics
